Scholarship winners kicking goals

Jacqueline Harding is a WA Mining Club scholarship winner of the Mining Engineering Scholarship 2022. Stood with Chantel Colomb, business administrator from BBE. Jacqueline has spent the summer working on-site and away at conferences. She has now accepted an offer of employment to complete some of her underground time. Currently, she holds an internship with Rio Tinto working with the Mine Operations team in Central Park. 

Every year the WA Mining Club, in conjunction with industry co-sponsors, offers a number of scholarships to encourage and foster the development of the next generation of leaders within Western Australia’s mining sector.  

Scholarship recipients are offered a mentoring program, provided by industry participants from the Scholarship co-sponsors. Mentors provide advice in relation to networking, making progress in the mining industry and other topics to help the mentee progress in their mining career.  

The Scholarship categories for 2023 are Indigenous Scholarship, Indigenous Upskilling Scholarship, Male Student in a Technical Discipline Scholarship, Female Student in a Technical Discipline Scholarship, Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering Scholarship, Mechanical Engineering Scholarship, Mining Engineering Scholarship, Geology, People & Culture, Environmental Science Scholarship and Regional Student Studying Geology Scholarship. 

The WA Mining Club’s 2023 scholarship awards dinner will be held on Thursday the 27th of April 2023.
