As the AGM is approaching, we would like to thank the current committee for all their hard work.
The current committee have implemented many new programs and reignited old ones as well as coordinating events, speakers and members.
Some of these included the Get into Mining Camp. An overnight field trip for University students to get a deeper understanding of the mining industry.
STREM United was rebranded under the WA Mining Club. This program promotes STEM subject (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to year 9 and 10 students with the goal to promote the mining industry.
Emergin Leaders, the WA Mining Club Mentor program was rebranded with over 10 pairs of mentors and mentees.
The Scholarship program once again awarded over 10 $10,000 scholarships to University and TAFE students.
The Eddie Plume trophy was founded and the first every trophy was awarded to Angela Zjalic.
Three of the WA Mining Club’s scholarship winners presented in a panel discussion at IMARC, organised by the club’s Scholarship Committee.
The Young Professional membership was reviewed, events restructured, and more value added to the membership.
And of course, we welcomed many new sponsors and members, growing the club’s network whilst championing our loyal ones.
