Invitation for students to apply for the BHP Billiton/Mineral Councils of Australia Women in Engineering Scholarship

As an industry, mining strongly supports the education and advancement of the next generation. In 2014, the WA Mining Club sponsored six scholarships and proudly promotes industry’s ongoing investment.

We have recently learned that BHP Billiton, in partnership with the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), the national body representing Australia’s mining and minerals processing industry, is inviting students from across the country to apply for the BHP Billiton/Minerals Council of Australia Women in Engineering Scholarship.

The BHP Billiton/MCA partnership is helping to identify the next generation of talented female engineers. The scholarship is open to all female undergraduate engineering students studying in Australia and provides $8000 per year for the final two years of study.

The scholarship aims to advance the role of women in the resources sector. There has been a strong number of applicants in previous years assisting BHP Billiton/MCA to achieve their goal of increasing the number of female engineers in the resource sector.

More information and the application form can be found here.
