The WA Mining Club has entered the second half of 2026 with strong momentum, a clear direction and an engaged committee committed to continuing the Club’s growth and impact across Western Australia’s resources industry.
At our Annual General Meeting, we reflected on a remarkable journey over the past 12 months. Membership is strong, event attendance continues to grow and our education and community initiatives are reaching more people than ever before. While these achievements are worth celebrating, they are also a reminder that the work doesn’t stop here.
As a committee, our focus for the remainder of 2026 is simple: continue creating value for our members while strengthening the industry’s future.
Education will remain a key priority. Following the success of our Get Into Mining Camps, Near Peer Mentor Program, Scholarships and Pit to Pixel STEM initiative, we will continue investing in programs that inspire the next generation to consider careers in mining and resources. Building future talent is one of the most important investments our industry can make.
Connection will continue to sit at the heart of everything we do. The WA Mining Club exists to bring people together, whether that’s through our flagship luncheons, technical breakfasts, Miners Mingle coffee walks or networking events. In an industry built on relationships, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations remains one of our greatest strengths.
Giving back will also remain central to our purpose. The generosity of our members, sponsors and partners continues to make a real difference through scholarships, community programs and fundraising initiatives. As a not-for-profit association, every investment we make is aimed at strengthening both our members and the broader resources sector.
The second half of the year also brings new opportunities with the appointment of a refreshed committee following the AGM election process. Every committee member brings different experiences, perspectives and networks, but we share one common goal: to leave the WA Mining Club stronger than we found it.
Together, the committee will focus on continuing to improve the member experience, expanding industry engagement, supporting emerging professionals and ensuring the Club remains relevant as our industry evolves.
The mining industry is navigating a rapidly changing environment. Global geopolitics, investment confidence, productivity, energy policy and critical minerals will continue to shape the conversations taking place across our sector. The WA Mining Club will continue providing a platform for those conversations by bringing together industry leaders, government, innovators and members to discuss the issues that matter most.
More than 50 years after it was established, the WA Mining Club continues to grow because of the people behind it. Our members, partners, sponsors, life members and committee all play an important role in creating a community that supports each other and contributes to the long-term success of Western Australia’s resources industry.
The next six months promise an exciting calendar of events, new initiatives and continued opportunities to connect. We look forward to welcoming members, both familiar faces and those joining us for the first time, as we continue building on the strong foundations that have been laid.
