John O’Neill 2026 Nomination

Why are you seeking a position on the WA Mining Club Committee?

I represent higher education which is one of the keys to the development of human talent, and this talent will always be needed by industry as times change and industry evolves. I’m impressed by the WA Mining Club and its people, and the way it represents its members and showcases their achievements to such big audiences. I feel that I can contribute towards the education development focus of the club as well as bring my extensive networks to play in helping the club grow and continue to make a difference.

Please outline the skills, experience, and perspectives you would bring to the Committee:

Firstly I am a team player who believes in making a contribution consistently. I have held senior executive level positions in large private companies ( Perron Group ) where I was responsible for the Mercedes Benz and Toyota retail operations of the group. I have also had two large very successful businesses of my own in Automotive Consulting and Real Estate, and I was a senior executive at Westpac in WA. I have extensive experience in state and local government in investment attraction and economic development. I have chaired several significant boards and enjoy a sound business reputation. I am a pragmatic person in business and I would bring this perspective to the committee of the WA Mining Club together with my other positive qualities.
