The annual AMEC Convention will be held on 7-8 June 2017 at Crown Perth. This year the focus is on what will drive the next mining and mineral exploration cycle.
The AMEC Convention is the event that brings together mineral explorers, producers, regulators, investors and service providers. AMEC has brought together a broad program of speakers who will talk on international affairs, commodity supply, demand dynamics, policy and investment.
Senator the Hon Matthew Canavan, federal Minister for Resources and Northern Australia and Hon Bill Johnston, WA Minister for Mines & Petroleum will both be part of the official opening on Wednesday morning.
The Hon Kim Beazley AC is the keynote speaker and will share his experiences working closely with the White House as the Ambassador to the United States of America from 2010 to 2016.
Peter Cook from Westgold Resources will present the prestigious Sir Arvi Parbo Oration. With a reputation for ‘cutting to chase’ and saying ‘how he sees it’, Peter will give his views and opinions on the changes to our industry drawing parallels to the past and the differences and challenges to the entrepreneur of today compared to when Sir Arvi pioneered mine developments some 50 years prior.
Former Fremantle Football Club captain Matthew Pavlich will deliver the closing address on Thursday afternoon and talk about his journey leading a high performance diverse team.
The two-day event will also feature presentations from number of listed mining companies will provide updates including Independence Group, Blackham Resources and Metals X.
There is a full exhibition area where the latest innovations in technology and services will be showcases by a range of emerging mining companies, mineral exploration companies and service providers to the industry.
