Why are you seeking a position on the WA Mining Club Committee?
I am seeking a position on the WA Mining Club Committee to actively contribute to the Club’s important work in networking, knowledge sharing, and advancing Western Australia’s mining industry.
I am particularly motivated to contribute my extensive systems engineering and technology integration experience to the Committee. I can offer practical insights into current and emerging IT, communications, and operational technology trends, helping the Club provide relevant guidance and support to members as the mining industry navigates digital transformation and the risks associated with legacy system obsolescence.
Please outline the skills, experience, and perspectives you would bring to the Committee:
I would bring strong governance and project management experience, supported by certifications in Management System Auditing, Six Sigma, and Earned Value Management. My background includes significant health and safety commitment through OH&S whitepapers and the delivery of safety-critical systems in both defence and mining environments.
Particularly, I offer practical expertise in adapting essential communications, voice, and data technologies to mining operations. This includes helping major miners transition legacy systems to modern platforms, ensuring operational resilience against future technology obsolescence challenges that could impact mine production. I am keen to bring this cross-industry perspective and delivery-focused approach to benefit the Committee and Club members.

The WA Mining Club Emerging Professionals aspires to drive diversification and innovation within the mining industry, through creation of a forum that supports development and retention of young professionals. We will establish a career-long network of individuals who are building their careers in mining.
Members of the WA Mining Club receive access to a broad range of industry speakers, who discuss technical, operational, legislative and regulatory matters, as well as sharing thoughts on the broader industry.
Our monthly luncheons are regularly attended by in excess of 300 members, all eager to listen, talk and share information about their experiences with their industry peers.
