The WA Mining Club Young Professionals “WAMC YP” are pleased to welcome you to our last sundowner for the year: Battle of the Batteries

This sundowner will focus on the future of battery compositions, viewed from an upstream mining lens. We are honoured to present the ultimate LFP v NMC debate, between two leaders of our industry, Dan Lougher, Managing Director & CEO of Western Areas and Ken Brinsden, Managing Director & CEO of Pilbara Minerals on which battery structure will win out (and why). The debate will be moderated by Ellen Cha, Patent Attorney of Wrays Intellectual Property and will focus on subject matters including fundamentals of Li-ion batteries, applications (EV, ESS markets) and processing technology.

More specifically, the key themes that will be driving the debate are:

  • Upstream Supply
  • Cost  v Performance
  • Off Grid Storage v Consumer Electronics
  • Environment – WA miners to achieve net zero emissions; recycling of Li-ion batteries
  • Possible Disruption
  • Commodity winners and losers

The sundowner is to be held on Friday, 19th November at the RAC Arena, with networking drinks commencing from 4.30pm and the event commencing at 5.30pm. This event is a chance for you to grow your network and meet a diverse range of like-minded industry professionals, including current and future leaders in mining.

The WAMC YP look forward to seeing you at RAC Arena on Friday 19th of November.

Remember to bring your business card to enter the door prize draw!
