St Barbara’s Day pays tribute to the patron saint of the mining industry and is celebrated this year by a remembrance ceremony and luncheon hosted by the West Australian Mining Club on Friday 5th December 2014.
This day provides an opportunity to consider and remember those unfortunate members of mining communities who lost their lives during the year. It also allows celebration of the rich endowment of mineral wealth that underpins much of our economy.
The lunch gives members and guests many opportunities for industry networking, entertainment and they will witness the much-anticipated prize draw for the club’s annual fund-raising raffle. Proceeds from the raffle go to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
