The WA Mining Club takes great pleasure in announcing our 2024 St Barbara’s Day luncheon speaker as industry legend Dale Elphinstone AO.

Fresh from his induction into the North American Mining Hall of Fame, Dale joins us in Perth on Friday 29th November for the annual St Barbara’s Day luncheon at Optus Stadium, when 1200 of the industry’s finest gather to celebrate all that is good about our industry and to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the 12 months prior.

Dale will join WA Mining Club MC Tim McMillan for a fireside chat to dig deep into Dale’s career which expands well beyond his time at William Adams / Cat in north western Tasmania, where he saw the opportunity to develop a better class of equipment for the underground market.

This brought about the range of Elphinstone underground loaders was born, which along with an expanded range of underground equipment, remains a strong brand globally almost 50 years later. Dale is ubiquitously described as humble, smart, fun, innovative, hard working, a force of nature, creative, dedicated, committed and very loyal to all involved in his ventures over the years.
