THIS IS A LIVESTREAMED VERSION OF THIS EVENT
PURCHASING A TICKET TO THIS EVENT DOES NOT ALLOW ACCESS TO THE LUNCHEON

Thursday 27th February will see us back at Optus Stadium River Room for our traditional annual pipe-opener – the Market Outlook, hosted by Liam Twigger. The 2025 version will be a blockbuster, with the panel including Tim McCormack from Cannacord and Emma Scotney from DeGrey Mining to discuss the equity markets and commodity price commentary and last but certainly not least, Chris Uhlmann – Walkley Award winning journalist and former ABC political editor who has recently joined Sky News.
In a double election year for WA, Chris’ political insights will be both timely and fascinating, as will his opinions on current energy policy as evidenced by the release of his recent documentary titled “The Real Cost of Net Zero”.
Which brings us to the concept of a double banger …… in a first for the WA Mining Club and with Chris Uhlmann in town, we have arranged for a members only screening of his documentary, followed by a panel Q and A featuring Chris and other energy policy experts. We’ve all heard a great deal about renewables, so with both state and federal elections coming up in WA and energy policy likely to be an election defining topic, come along and educate yourself on the full picture before heading to the polls. This members only documentary screening will take place the evening before the Market Outlook luncheon, after work hours on Wed 26th Feb from 6pm.
We on the WAMC committee are acutely aware that the Venn diagram of Mining Club event attendees has two main circles – those that are able to attend the luncheon events during work hours and those that struggle to get away during work hours each month, with quite a large Venn overlap consisting of a rusted on diehard population that will attend pretty much every event (thank you, you legends). We hope to see many of you at both events and kick off the year with a bang.
Meanwhile, rest assured that behind the scenes your committee is busily pulling together a knockout program of speakers and events for 2025 and will keep you all posted when the time’s right. It’s shaping to be a huge year!
Thank you to our event sponsors:
