June 2026 Breakfast – Psychosocial Safety

Event - June 2026 Breakfast – Psychosocial Safety

For many years, conversations about psychosocial safety in mining were largely driven by concerns around sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination. While these issues remain critically important, they have also opened a portal into a much broader conversation about how work impacts the human brain, our wellbeing, and our ability to perform at our best.

Today, leading organisations are looking beyond inappropriate behaviour and asking bigger questions. How do we create brain-friendly workplaces? How do we optimise stress rather than simply trying to eliminate it? How do we ensure people have role clarity, adequate support, meaningful work, the right resources and healthy team relationships that enable both wellbeing and high performance?

The reality is that not all stress is bad. Challenge, growth and accountability are essential ingredients for success. The opportunity for leaders is understanding the difference between productive stress that helps people perform and chronic, unmanaged stress that undermines decision-making, engagement, safety and performance.

In a sector built on safety leadership, the conversation has shifted from preventing misconduct to designing work that helps people perform, connect and thrive. What does a psychologically healthy FIFO camp look like? How do leaders reduce unnecessary stress while maintaining high standards? How do we create workplaces that support both wellbeing and productivity?

Join our expert panel as we explore how the mining industry is evolving its approach to psychosocial hazards and human performance. Drawing on neuroscience, leadership and practical industry experience, we’ll discuss what leading organisations are doing to create safer, healthier and more sustainable workplaces.

This promises to be a practical, thought-provoking discussion with insights that leaders can take back and apply immediately.
