One of the highlights of the WA Mining Club’s calendar is our Scholarship Awards, announcing the 2021 winners and welcoming the next generation of leaders in the mining industry.
We will be joined by special guest, Matthew Blackwell, Head of Major Projects for Iluka Resources.
Matthew joined Iluka in 2004 as President of their US Operations. After a number of different roles, Matt joined the Executive as Head of Marketing, Mineral Sands in February 2014. In 2019 he took on the role of Head of Major Projects, Engineering and Innovation and today has executive accountability for Major Projects and Marketing. Prior to joining Iluka he was Executive Vice President of TSX listed Asia Pacific Resources based in Thailand. This followed almost a decade working across Australia for WMC and Normandy Poseidon.
Matt has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Queensland, a Grad Dip and MBA from Deakin University, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School General Management Program.
