Vice President of Operations Australia Michael Gollschewski will outline Alcoa’s commitment to innovation that dates back to the company’s origins in 1886 with the invention of the aluminium smelting process.
Fast forward to 2021, and Alcoa continues to innovate at both a local and global level using an ‘operator centric’ approach that has allowed Alcoa to redefine practical operating limits and advance its sustainability goals.
Within the Alcoa Australia context, the company is undergoing a digital transformation across its operations. Michael will discuss three key initiatives namely the use of drone technology, the Connected Worker program and use of digital twins. Alcoa is leveraging these and other technologies to enable its people to deliver creative solutions to complex problems and extract maximum value from its mature assets.
