You have probably sent the email. The one that took a week of digging to find the right address, an hour to word properly, and then vanished without a reply. Not because your idea was weak, but because the people who could act on it receive dozens of pitches a week and have learned to filter out nearly all of them. For most innovators, getting in front of mining decision makers is a harder problem than the technical one they set out to solve.
On Thursday 24th September 2026, the WA Mining Club is switching that filter off for an afternoon.
Our Innovation Luncheon will bring around 500 industry participants into one room, including senior decision makers from mining companies and contractors, for a panel discussion titled “Problem, Meet Solution”. We are also notifying the relevant innovation and technical leads inside mining companies directly, to boost the cohort of decision makers on the day.
Adjacent to the panel, we are reserving a mini-expo space in River View Room 3 for 25 entities to showcase their ideas during pre-lunch drinks (roughly 45 minutes) and post-lunch drinks (up to an hour). That is close to two hours of unstructured conversation with an audience that has come specifically to meet people like you, with a drink in hand and no gatekeeper in sight.
Our selection criteria is very broad:
Selection process to be overseen by Rob Humphryson (WA Mining Club speaker lead), international speaker and panellist, Marina Baslina and local panelists Grant Wellwood and Paul Lucey.
We hope to make this an annual event, so disappointment in 2026 should not prevent application if the event were to repeat in 2027.
