KingKira is wholly owned and operated by Tammy O’Connor, a traditional owner from the Pilbara region with a strong antecedent connection to her country through her Nyiyaparli and Palyku Aboriginal heritage, and links to Kariyarra and Ngarluma via her grandmother’s side.
Established in early 2014, KingKira has experienced organic growth through a simple strategic vision; “to provide development opportunities for Aboriginal people, and in parallel manage all aspects of the land in which the business operates to maintain a sustainable future”.
Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship is to support an Indigenous student on their education journey through funds to assist with the cost of education, particularly extra curricula activities that may involve travel or equipment for field trips.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility
Applicants must be of Indigenous heritage (Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander)
Applicants must be enrolled in full time study in year 11 and 12 or in post-secondary study in Western Australia either of a trade or university degree/diploma (up to 1st year)
Candidates would ideally be enrolled in a course of study in Western Australia related to the pursuit of a career in the resources sector
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the need and likely use of scholarship funds
Applicants must be resident in Western Australia.

WA Mining Club Young Professionals
The WA Mining Club Young Professionals aspires to drive diversification and innovation within the mining industry, through creation of a forum that supports development and retention of young professionals. We will establish a career-long network of individuals who are building their careers in mining.
Members of the WA Mining Club receive access to a broad range of industry speakers, who discuss technical, operational, legislative and regulatory matters, as well as sharing thoughts on the broader industry.
Our monthly luncheons are regularly attended by in excess of 300 members, all eager to listen, talk and share information about their experiences with their industry peers.
Being a member of the WA Mining Club provides the very best opportunity around to meet other industry professionals and discuss topical issues, challenges and innovations with others across the spectrum of the Western Australian mining industry.
