A Message from the WA Mining Club President, Jordan Pedley

Dear Members and the wider WA Mining Club Community,

As we come to the end of another remarkable year for the WA Mining Club, I want to take a moment to thank you for your contribution, your support, and your commitment to our industry and our community.

This year has reminded us why the mining sector is often described as a family. We look out for one another, we celebrate each other’s achievements, and on days like St Barbara’s Day, we pause to honour those we have lost and the families who carry that loss. It is this sense of connection and care that continues to define our Club.

More than 50 years ago, the WA Mining Club began with a simple belief in connection, community, and supporting the next generation. This year, we continued building on that foundation in a meaningful way.

2025 Highlights

Thanks to your involvement, the Club achieved some incredible outcomes this year:

  • Influenced hundreds of students through our Get Into Mining program
    • Delivered 3 student camps, a field trip to Christmas Creek, and teacher site visits to Boddington Gold
    • Received hundreds of scholarship applications and awarded 11 scholarships
    • Took 5 scholarship students to IMARC to speak on national stages
    • Hosted 10 meet the members morning teas, 9 industry lunches, 4 Miners Mingles, a members-only event, and the President’s Cup Golf Day
    • Welcomed 32 speakers across our programs
    • Grew our membership to a record 1,100 members
    • Built an online community of more than 33,000 supporters
    • Raised more than 46,000 dollars for charity, with more still to come

Every one of these achievements belongs to you, our members, sponsors, volunteers, team and committees. Your participation, feedback, and energy are what keep this Club advancing.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Next year will be another significant step forward.

We will launch Pit to Pixel with Core Learning Foundation, our new mining and technology school subject designed to inspire and educate the next generation of mining. We will grow our education programs, expand our camps, and increase our scholarship value as we continue investing in the future of Western Australia.

We are also strengthening our membership by bringing more mining companies, explorers, producers, and operators into the room.

And in 2026, we introduce a new special event. The Sir Charles Court Mid Year Lunch. It will join St Barbara’s Day as one of the WA mining industry’s flagship events.

Thank You

On behalf of the WA Mining Club Committee and the Young Professionals Advisory Committee, thank you. Your support has created a strong, vibrant, and inclusive community that reflects the best of our sector.

I wish you and your families a safe, happy, and restful Christmas and New Year.
We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 as we continue honouring the past, celebrating the present, and building the future of mining in Western Australia.

Warm regards,
Jordan Pedley
