WA Mining Club Participates in Industry Event at PROK

The WA Mining Club was pleased to support an industry-focused event held at PROK, where the Minerals Council of Australia facilitated a mining policy announcement by Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.

While the Club remains politically neutral, we welcome opportunities to contribute to discussions that promote the long-term strength and sustainability of the mining sector.

WA Mining Club committee members Jordan Pedley and Barry Upton were invited to speak to Peter Dutton, sharing key perspectives from within the industry. Jordan highlighted the vital role of young professionals in shaping the future of mining and leading the next generation of businesses. Barry spoke to the Club’s ongoing commitment to education, engagement, and community initiatives that support a strong, future-ready workforce.

This event provided a valuable platform to showcase the collaborative efforts happening across our industry and reinforce the importance of continued investment in people, innovation, and sustainable growth.

A special thank you to David Parker from the Minerals Council of Australia for his work in coordinating the event, and to PROK for hosting and supporting this important conversation.

The WA Mining Club looks forward to continuing to support forums that highlight the strength and future potential of our industry.
